Deborah
Robbins Schwarzer joined the firm as its second partner in 1990,
and is currently a member of the Corporate
and Securities and Technology Transactions
and Product Distribution groups. Prior to joining GCA in 1990,
she was a partner in the corporate securities practice of Wilson
Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto. From 1996 to 2001, Ms.
Schwarzer served as General Counsel of Heska Corporation, a public
biotechnology company located in Fort Collins, Colorado. She returned
to GCA in an Of Counsel capacity as of December 2002.
While at GCA, Ms. Schwarzer represented both emerging technology
companies and public companies for the full range of corporate matters,
including public and private securities counseling, mergers and
acquisitions work and technology licensing matters. Before joining
Heska, she ran the Fort Collins, Colorado office of GCA from 1995-1996.
During her tenure at Heska, she managed the company's initial public
offering in addition to supervising the legal aspects of its corporate
and transaction matters.
Ms. Schwarzer
is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Wellesley College in Wellesley,
Massachusetts, where she received her B.A. in philosophy with highest
honors in 1979. She earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago
in 1982. She is a member of the California and Colorado bars.
