John Hollingsworth joined GCA Law Partners LLP as a partner in September
1993. He practices technology transactions
and product distribution law and commercial
law. He has extensive experience in software and hardware licensing,
biotechnology licensing, manufacturing, distribution and development
transactions, including multimedia, Internet related matters and
medical device development and licensing. He also advises on commercial
lending and leasing matters. He has advised clients in connection
with master development agreements, patent licenses, contract manufacturing
agreements, materials transfer agreements, original design manufacturing
agreements, in-bound and out-bound licenses (clickwrap as well as
negotiated licenses), distribution agreements (including as VAR,
OEM and SI agreements), sales representative agreements, Internet
privacy issues, open source license issues, web site hosting agreements
and e-commerce transactions. With over 20 years of legal experience
he is able to assist clients, from start-ups to mature companies,
with structuring their product development, manufacturing and distribution
strategies in ways which best suit their needs. Before joining the
firm, Mr. Hollingsworth was a member of the commercial group
at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in San Francisco. Previously,
he worked in Taiwan for the Formosa Transnational Law Office.
Mr. Hollingsworth holds a B.A. from the University of California,
Irvine and a J.D. from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco.
